Freestyle Ice Sessions
Winterhurst Ice Arena’s Freestyle Ice sessions are specially designated for USFSA (United States Figure Skating Association) members who are at or above the Basic 6 level. These sessions provide a focused, dedicated environment where skaters can practice figure skating skills, refine techniques, and whttps://www.usfigureskating.org/ork directly with their USFSA-certified coaches in private lessons.
Who Can Participate?
Freestyle Ice sessions are open to figure skaters who meet the following criteria:
- USFSA Membership Required: All participants must be members of the United States Figure Skating Association or Learn to Skate USA, ensuring both skill qualification and accident insurance coverage.
- Hockey lessons on Freestyle sessions: Participants must be a member of USA Hockey, ensuring accident insurance coverage.
- Basic 6 Level and Above: Only skaters who have reached Basic 6 (Aspire) or higher are permitted to participate. (Except at specific times during summer sessions) This helps maintain a safe and productive environment, ideal for advanced practice.
We will adhere to a schedule for the busier summer sessions beginning june 8th for everyone’s safety, as follows
7:00 AM-7:30 AM – TUESDAY, THURSDAY Basic 6 (Aspire) and Above, Hockey lesson
7:30 AM-8:30 AM – Basic 6 (Aspire) and Above, Hockey lesson
8:30 AM – 10:00 AM – Basic 6 (Aspire) and Above NO HOCKEY
10:10 AM- 10:40 AM – CLINICS
10:40 AM- 11:40 AM – Basic 6 (Aspire) and Above, Hockey lesson
11:50 AM-12:20 PM – Basic 6 (Aspire) and Above, Hockey lesson
12:20 PM – 1:50 PM – Basic 6 (Aspire) and Above AND BELOW, Hockey lesson
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM – MONDAY, WEDNESDAY – JUNE ONLY – All levels, Hockey lesson
Program Guidelines
- Independent Practice and Lessons: Freestyle Ice is available for both independent practice and one-on-one lessons with a USFSA coach, providing flexibility for skaters working toward competition or skill advancement.
- Safety and Skill Development: With a focus on supporting figure skating growth, Freestyle Ice is structured to offer ample space and time for skaters to work on jumps, spins, and choreography without interruption.
